I am pleased to announce my Eugene City Council appointment of Mike McFarlane to the Eugene Sustainability Commission. Each city councilor may appoint one member to the commission. The remaining positions are filled by council majority. I know Mike to be a thoughtful, intelligent and curious individual who is passionate about protecting our environment. Most recently, I want to call out his work with the River Keepers helping to make our Willamette River a safer and healthier environment. Mike has many accomplishments after his name and is someone who extensively researches issues before issuing an opinion. I look forward to working with Mike and the Sustainability Commission to make Eugene a better place.
